The ExTOPE Connect app enables X-MET and Vulcan operators to share data with colleagues, customers etc. seconds after readings are acquired.
Using your Phone’s mobile hotspot
Configuring your Phone:
Go to Phone Settings / Mobile Hotspot, and turn On
Go to Personal Hotspot, and write down the Wi-Fi password
Turn Hotspot On
Configuring your X-MET/Vulcan:
Switch the X-MET/Vulcan on
Select Wireless / WiFi from X-MET/Vulcan settings and turn On
Select your Phone’s network and enter the password you wrote down earlier
Press Done. The screen should show that the X-MET/Vulcan is connected to your Phone
Using your Wi-Fi network
Configuring your Phone:
Go to Settings / Wi-Fi, and select your Wi-Fi network (enter password if needed)
Configuring your X-MET/Vulcan:
Switch the X-MET/Vulcan on
Select Wireless / Wi-Fi and turn On
Select the same Wi-Fi network as the one used for your phone and enter the password if needed
Press Done. The screen should show that the X-MET/Vulcan is connected to the Wi-Fi network.
Write down the IP address
Press Done twice to go back to the main menu
Using the app
Ensure that both your X-MET/Vulcan and phone are connected to the same Wi-Fi or mobile hotspot
On your phone, open the ExTOPE Connect app
Tap “Connect to device”
The connection to your X-MET/Vulcan should be listed
If not, press the + icon and enter the IP address (as written down previously). The X-MET’s/Vulcan’s name, serial number and IP address should now be shown
Select it. Results should start to be listed on your phone’s screen. Note: The results will only be visible on your phone while it is connected to the X-MET/Vulcan.
You can select a result and take a picture with your phone of the sample/lot/etc associated with the result 'camera icon'. The picture will be displayed with the results.
Using 'share icon', you can share a selected result by e-mail, Dropbox, WhatsApp, etc .
