Professional Testing Services (PTS) wanted to expand their capability to meet the needs of their customers by being able to do material analysis onboard vessels and on-site, especially in more difficult or hard to access environments. PTS provides third-party testing services mainly for the verification and sorting of material. In the past, the company had to take a sample that was then delivered to a laboratory for testing and results. Thanks to their purchase of Hitachi High-Tech’s PMI-Master Smart portable OES analyzer, it has allowed them to offer a wider range of services, including on-site measurement and testing as well as achieving low limits of detection for key elements like carbon, nitrogen, phosphorous and boron.
